Our focus is on equipping individuals with the tools necessary to fulfill their unique God-given purpose.

Selfless
Service

We embrace a lifestyle of service, understanding that worship is expressed through genuine acts of Christian character and service to others.

OUR HISTORY

Olivet Missionary Baptist Church was founded in 1934 in an old theater on Jefferson and Gamble Streets. Led by Reverend Lemon Johnson, they later moved to 22nd Street and Franklin Avenue, and then to 19th Street and Delmar Boulevard under Reverend Fleming's leadership.

In 1945, Reverend R.T. Davis became the pastor, serving for 29 years. He focused on Christian education and actively participated in various congresses and conventions.

Reverend James C. Davis Sr. succeeded him in 1974, emphasizing the importance of prayer. After his passing in 1998, Reverend Henry W. Crump took over as pastor in 2000.

Under Reverend Crump's leadership, the church experienced growth and continued to serve the community. He retired in 2015 and was named Pastor Emeritus. Pastor L.D. Tate then became the 7th pastor, known for advocating Christian education and evangelism.
